Last night proved to be a fun-filled Fashion Night Out here in London! The girls and I started our tour at Liberty where we got all dolled up in costume and posed in the Manolo Blahnik photo booth. Mr. Blahnik showed up later in the evening to pick his favorite shots.
Hair colorist to the stars, Josh Wood, was on hand to tousle your locks into a catwalk worthy style while you had your nails done at the same time:
You could learn how to tie a Liberty scarf in a hundred different ways, and then pose for a picture in your creation on the cover of British Vogue.
That's us in the top right corner:
Bond and New Bond Streets in Mayfair were closed to traffic so you could navigate the shops more easily:
We then walked to one of my favorite streets in London, Mount Street, which is home to Lanvin, Goyard, Loewe, and other fine shops, as well as the luxury hotel The Connaught, and the restaurants Scott's (celebrity hotspot) and George Club (members only club). We stopped at wedding and evening gown queen Jenny Packham's flagship store for a glass of champers.
My friend Aruna Seth tried on a stunning Jenny Packham evening dress with her own signature Swarovski butterfly heels:
Then across the street we went to the Lanvin store for some Moet and macaroons ... is there any better combination? This gives new meaning to M&Ms!
My French friend, Virginie, striking a pose at Lanvin:
My American friend, Dara Huang, showing off the Jonathan Saunders designed official VFNO t-shirt in the Diane von Furstenberg shop on Bruton Street in Mayfair:
Free manicures at Diane von Furstenberg:
We then walked next door to the Matthew Williamson store, and I was so pleased to discover that one of my favorite designers is such a nice guy in person!
My friends Dara and Michelle posed for a "sunny" photo in some far off tropical climate at Matthew Williamson:
And here I am with Matthew Williamson himself!
The exotic tropical forest with orchids inside the store was just amazing:
The wallpaper, the live tree, the dress, its all too much!!!
Some impressive hula-hooping going on outside the Kenzo store on Bruton Street:
Tory Burch had a free food truck stationed outside of its Mayfair store, which, by the way, is the most sensationally interior designed store I have seen in a long time!! Wow, can my house look like this please?!?! Amen Mr. Daniel Romualdez, you are one hell of an interior designer. Though I suppose it doesn't hurt when you can afford for every item to be handmade in Italy, as is the case in the shop.
Look at these details:
My favorite stop of the entire evening was the Hermes Swing Patrol band on New Bond Street whose instructors (clad in skirts made of Hermes scarves) got people dancing in the streets with their dancing lessons.
The full swing skirts were made from lots of individual Hermes scarves:
Watch the live dancing lessons, SO fun!
People brought out their finest get-ups to prance around in for the festivities:
I ended the night with an al fresco dinner with the famous shoe designer (and my partner in crime), Aruna Seth, in Sheperd's Market at Le Boudin Blanc ... it was such a fun evening!!!
