London, England - Decorex Interior Design Trade Show 2012

At the heart of the design community for over 35 years, luxury interior design show Decorex International in London's Chelsea neighborhood remains in a league of its own. Every year the event surpasses itself to provide an even better collection of suppliers and designs as well as an inspirational array of speakers and features.

This year I participated in Decorex on behalf of Liberty Furnishing Fabrics in a stand shared with the amazingly talented furniture designer Stuart Scott. Stuart upholstered his Sartor and Vegas Lounger chairs in our Liberty fabric, which was a great fit since both companies are quintessential British brands made in the UK.

The outrageously beautiful copper leaf wall in the stand was made from 1,200 individual leaves of copper laid on 4 MDF panels by Stuart Fox Ltd. Stuart is also a master in antique mirroring, liquid metal, eglomise, gilding and hand painted artwork. He is a modern day Michelangelo.

The Isabella Slipper Chair upholstered in soft yellow Designer's Guild velvet was a show stopper:

These are my highlights from the rest of the trade show:

Fromental exquisite hand-painted wallpapers and stunning hand-embroidered and painted fabrics:

Stark Carpets, fabrics and wall coverings are always a favorite:

Obsessed with these closet doors, by Isis Furniture:

The Nicolas Feuillatte champagne bar with cork stools designed by Rabih Hage was a busy gathering place:

Terzani ... how stunning is their Atlantis Chandelier ... TDF!

If there is one thing Brits have mastered, its flowers! How breathtaking is this arrangement at one of the stands?!?

No one does passementerie quite like the Spina boys. Tassles, curtain tie-backs, fringed footstools, crystal lighting, etc. They are not only my friends, but decadence geniuses.

A fun red Chinoiserie lacquered mirror at Interio:

The console table that dreams are made of by Ginger & Jagger, known as the Fig Tree Console:

Lapicida Stone Specialists won the award for best stand at Decorex this year. How amazing would that stone floor be in a circular reception hall ... even my Mom went bonkers for this.

I nearly climbed into this Beaudesert bespoke bed and slept for the remainder of the show; the only thing that stopped me was the £18,000 price tag (oh and security).

Lighting specialist Collier Webb make bronze, brass, plaster, copper, glass or leather and custom finishes to order for each light fixture.

LOVE the mirrored frames on these black and white photographs, as well as the horse triptic below from Trowbridge Gallery:

The Christopher Guy feature stand made quite a statement:

A very put together living room by interior designer Louise Bradley:
