This weekend a friend of ours was in town from NYC so we decided to take him to one of our favorite Italian restaurants in Mayfair, Cecconi's. The emerald green, black and white dining room (another David Collins masterpiece) is the setting for business power lunches in the afternoon and celebrity/socialite filled dinners.
Our dinner on Saturday night did not disappoint: we were sat at a table next to Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, all of whom were in town for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards ceremony last night.
Whilst trying not to stare at Tom, we nibbled on:
Cured salmon, avocado & capers
Prosciutto Toscano, gnocco fritto (fried bread filled with cheese)
Burrata & heritage tomato
Pappardelle, wild boar & porcini ragu
Wild sea bass, baby vegetables
Veal Milanese
Zucchini fritti
Crab ravioli
Vanilla, Vin Santo and Mascarpone ice cream |
Molten chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream (someone dug into this before I snapped a pic!) |
Tiramisu (amazing!) |
Tom Cruise leaving Cecconi's in the glare of paparazzi flash bulbs:
I love Cecconis! It's one of my favorites in London. You are totally making my mouth water. Need to book a sitter ;) xox
ReplyDeleteI love their power lunches too! Wish it were easier to get a reservation. I was on the waiting list for lunch both yesterday and today and no dice :-( Axx
