Last Friday morning my friend Michelle and I flew to Nice, France for a long weekend on the Cote d'Azur as we were invited by London friends to stay in an absolutely breathtaking villa in St. Tropez. We picked up the rental car and drove straight to Juan Les Pins for lunch.
On the way out of the restaurant we stopped to watch the French men playing boules.
We had a stroll through the grounds of the famous 5 star Belles Rives hotel on our way back to the car.
We then drove another hour or so to the town of Gassin, which borders St. Tropez. We stopped at a few local wineries to pick up bottles of rose to bring to our host at the villa. We went to Chateau Minuty first ...
... and then picked up a few magnums at neighboring Chateau Barbeyrolles:
We then drove five minutes up the hill into Gassin and finally reached Villa Florentine. The villa is owned by a very famous diamond heiress and sleeps sixteen. With its French provencal interior and views of both the vineyards and the sea below, Michelle and I literally died and went to heaven when we walked inside.
We made our way down to the pool to meet our host and all of his friends who would be there for the weekend with us.
There were many restaurants in town where you could dine outside and we ended up getting a table large enough for all of us at Bello Visto.
Here's our host with Michelle. Not only is he ginger, British, and his name is Harry, but he is also a very accomplished chef (which in my book, is better than a prince!). He owns Harry's Kitchen, and is the private chef for many celebrity clients. Wait until you see the lunch he cooked us on Sunday ... stay tuned.
OMG, what a heavenly place, beginning with Juan les Pins (where we had a beautiful villa for 1 whole month one summer), and what a bunch of beautiful people you are. Cannot wait to hear more!! "And, his name was Harry." I can just hear ABBA singing in the background.
